FAQ

noochpop vegan popcorn flavour

Q: “Hey Nooch Girls, what the heck is Nooch?”

A: ‘Nooch’ is another word for ‘Nutritional Yeast’, a plant-based golden seasoning famous in the nutrition world as a savoury, dairy-free cheese alternative. Nooch is an inactive yeast (not baker’s or brewer’s yeast) and is a source of fibre and B vitamins. If you’re new to Nooch, give it a chance, its healthy and tastes so good on popcorn!

Q: “Ok, why are vegetarians and vegans so gaga for Nooch? What’s so good about Nutritional Yeast?”

A: “Well, Nutritional Yeast is a complete protein, providing all 9 amino acids that the human body cannot produce. It’s high in fiber, B vitamins and minerals, including folate, thiamine, riboflavin, niacin, selenium, and zinc.”

Q: “How is Nutritional Yeast made?”

A: “Nutritional yeast is grown in a glucose-rich environment, usually sugarcane or beet molasses. The yeast is then heated to become inactive, then fermented, harvested, washed, pasteurized and dried to a golden yellow flake or powder.”

Q: “What’s with the 3 oils?”

A: We pop NoochPOP in a unique blend of coconut, olive and avocado oils. These 3 oils coat the popcorn with a delicious buttery flavor, while remaining dairy-free!

Q: “I hear that most corn is GMO, is NoochPOP Non-GMO?”

A: “Yes, we only use non-GMO butterfly popcorn.

Q: “I can’t have yeast, so can I eat NoochPOP?”

A: “Of course you can, because nutritional yeast is a DEACTIVATED yeast, so it
won’t give you any tummy issues. Just to be careful, try a little to start, and check
with your healthcare provider if you have any questions or concerns.”
